New Waistline, Same Old Dumb Questions

jason looking at his energy drink with a perplexed look on his face

Big news! We’re now live on your radio all the way until noon.  You can still get us on your smart home assistant listening box thing (just tell Alexa and Google to play Jason and Deb). Or you can just download the 101X app on your phone and stream us from there!  And there’s always the good old podcast.

Dumb Question Amnesty

One of the biggest adjustments Jason has had to make on his weight loss odyssey is swapping out his normal Red Bull for a zero calorie energy drink.  But awhile back he snuck in a Diet Coke and was surprised by how much more effective it was at zapping him with energy. This lead him to today’s Dumb Question Amnesty, can you build a tolerance to caffeine, and can you negate it by switching up your source of caffeine?  The answer to the first one was easy to find out. A quick Google search revealed that, yes, you can build up your caffeine tolerance.  The second one is a bit more difficult to find out.  So if there are any caffeine scientists out there, let us know!

C Of The Week

The other day Deb found herself having a Hunger Games emergency after picking up the new prequel novel, The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes. After watching the movies again she determined she is officially on Team Gale. (Sorry Peeta people)  But when she asked her San Antonio Guy whose team he was on she was horrified when he refused to pick sides.  Sure that’s on brand for SA Guy, but anyone who’s read a YA fiction series knows, you have to choose.  Either your Team Gale or Team Peeta.  You’re Team Edward or Team Jacob.  Even Jason is on Peeta’s side, even though the only Hunger Games thing he’s knows is that Peeta lives under a rock (because he camouflages himself like the ground).  In fact, we’re just so glad he was able to play along that we didn’t even bother to correct him on that.

We Love You

As a sign of the times, we’ve pivoted the I Love You Call from calling random business to calling your loved ones who might need an extra boost in these trying times.  Listener Carina wanted us to call her boyfriend Craig.  They’re high school sweethearts who are still together, but have been quarantining together in a one bed room apartment.  Unfortunately Craig was stuck on a work call, so we ended up having a lovely chat with Carina herself.  If you’ve got someone you think needs some extra love these days, let us know!

Daily Morale Boosters

Buzzfeed wants to know what you’re doing with your ketchup.

Some guy out there is CGI’ing his cat into different movie scenes.  It’s pretty great.

Just let him have it!
