Queen’s of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has shared two recordings from late November of 2015 on his Instagram account of himself reading his original poems “Glass Cars” and “Where The Fog Begins” in a deep, somber voice.

Homme revealed that the inspiration behind “Glass Cars” came from his daughter who came up with the title on a drive with her parents. “Her mom & I loved the title so much, we often would pretend to argue over who could use the title. In the end we decided to share the title. My version is just a poem.” says Homme. Glass Cars is about “a lifelong bachelor, who has yet to meet that special song one, that poem feels ready to make a life song commitment with.”

When posting about “Where The Fog Begins,” Hommes wrote, “In an old piece of technology, I came across this recording. I was ill, stuck in bed & feeling restless; however, there was bright side. It had transformed my voice by lowering it.” Homme explained that he took advantage of his “radio performer” baritone voice to record both of his poems aloud while sick in bed in November 2015.
