Today’s catch comes from one Devonte Hynes, better known as Blood Orange. He has been hinting at a new album/mixtape for about a month now. I can also remember him playing a brand new song on one of the late night shows earlier in the spring and asking his fans on Instagram if he should release the single. Well, he went ahead and dropped the new album/mixtape called Angel’s Pulse on Friday, and it’s outstanding. He said it is “somewhat of an epilogue” to Negro Swan, in an interview with New York Magazine. Hynes also said in the interview, “I fell toward the word mixtape in terms of talking with everyone, friends and label and whatnot. In my ideal world, I just put it out, and people can do whatever.” The album features an incredible cast of collaborators including Toro y Moi, Kelsey Lu, Porches, Benny Revival, Arca, Joba, and the wonderful Tinashe, who is featured on today’s catch called “Tuesday Feeling (Choose To Stay)“.
