Did Mark Hoppus Help in the Capture of Saddam Hussein?

Did Mark Hoppus Help in the Capture of Saddam Hussein? Click here for his Twitter story to find out!

Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus has long had a reputation for having categorically “good” tweets. But this week, he’s outdone himself. Hoppus quote-tweeted a post that asked for users to reply with “the least plausible story about [themselves] that’s true.” His story? He had a conversation with a Navy Admiral on how he thought the United States could capture Saddam Hussein.

He followed up with a detailed description of the plan he had devised: “At the time, Hussein was in hiding but continued releasing videotaped messages to his followers. My idea was to have trucks with big speakers drive around BLASTING time code just out of the frequency range of human hearing but within the dynamic range of a video camera’s microphone. When Saddam released a tape, he would have inadvertently recorded the time code. Using the time code, you could go back and pinpoint a general radius from where the truck was. With that information, you start the search. Also, knowing the general area of the recording, you can bring in more trucks to canvas there, and if you don’t find him and he released another videotaped message, you can use the multiple trucks’ time codes for triangulation, revealing his exact location.”

So while Tom DeLonge was out chasing aliens, Mark Hoppus was apparently chasing tyrants.
