At a Foo Fighters show in Wantagh, New York this weekend, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers joined the band on stage, taking over the drums for a cover of The Faces’ “Stay with Me.”
While it’s always a treat for fans when Taylor Hawkins hops on the mic so Dave Grohl can pound on the drums for a bit, this is a step above. With Grohl rocking on the guitar, Smith on drums and Hawkins on lead vocals, this was a performance for the books. The RHCP drummer has joined the Foo Fighters onstage before, once back in 2015 for a performance of the same song.
The band’s North American tour will be ongoing through October– who knows what the next big surprise guest will be!
