It's been a solid 7 years since the last full length album from Garbage, and IMO, that's way too long. Now I honestly do think that Garbage is one of the best bands to come out of the '90's, and will be an influence for real musicians and music lovers for the years to come. After a long 7 years, which included Shirley Manson cast as an antagonist on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Butch Vig winning a Grammy Award for producing the latest Foo Fighters album, the gang decided it was time to come back into the studio and get some work done. Not Your Kind of People is the name of the upcoming LP, and it's the same Garbage that you have loved over the past several years. Some of the best work by the band has been their more mellow/electronic songs ("Milk", "You Look So Fine", ...

So it's been about a good 4 years since we have heard anything new from Little Boots, but now she is back! The rumor is that she is finishing up the final touches of her second full length album, set for release later this year. In the meantime, Little Boots has put out a new single entitled "Every Night I Say a Prayer", and is today's catch of the day. The original track is accompanied by many great remixes, and all seem to give off this kind of late '80's club sound that is comparable to Saint Etienne or Pet Shop Boys. I do believe the retro sounding beats, vocal styles, and entire vibe of this new song can be attributed to the great Andy Butler (the "main man" behind Hercules and Love Affair), who actually co-wrote and produced the single. With the success of their two first singles, "Lofticries" and"Belispeak", Purity Ring is set to release their first full length LP in July. The Canadian duo's first album will be called Shrines, and will be available on July 24th. In addition to the first two singles that we play pretty heavily on Chillville, they will have 9 more new tracks (a total of 11), including the first official single from the LP entitled "Obedear". And yes, you guessed it..."Obedear" is today's catch of the day. Purity Ring will also be embarking on a North American tour, which happened to kick off at this past weekend's Nocturnal Wonderland. Now, since this band has sprung out into the scene about a year ago, they have really impressed critics and fans alike, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what more Purity Ring can offer with their full length album. Hold onto your seats, folks! ...
