Meet Some Of The Artist Joining Us On Wednesday For The 101X Day Party

K.Flay

K.Flay is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Wilmette, Illinois. K.Flay started making music at the age of 19 and released her first mixtape, Suburban Rap Queen, in 2005. Deriving inspiration from strong female artists such as Liz Phair, Fiona Apple, Missy Elliott, and Lauryn Hill, K.Flay found her sound somewhere in between hip hop, indie rock, and electronic music. K.Flay signed to RCA Records in 2012 and released her EP Eyes Shut that same year. Unfortunately, after her 2013 release of What It Is, K.Flay left RCA due to their inability to market her sound. She released her full-length debut album Life as a Dog independently in 2014, through the help of crowdsourcing. In 2016 she was one of the first to sign with Night Street Records and released her EP Crush Me just 10 days later. Her sophomore album Every Where Is Some Where was released in 2017 and even earned her a Grammy nomination for the single “Blood in the Cut.”

Just Loud

As a young boy growing up in Virginia, Just Loud’s adolescence revolved around his small country church, however, at the age of 15 he was cast away from the church and turned to music. As a musician, Just Loud doesn’t confine himself to one single music genre, instead, he looks for inspiration from all eras of music dating back to the ‘70s. In 2018, Just Loud was signed to the Five Seven Music label and since he has been taking the music world by storm; his debut single “Electrified” garnered over 3 million streams on Spotify since it was released. Recently, Just Loud collaborated with none-other than Debbie Harry on the new single “Soul Train,” take a listen to it below.

The Strumbellas

The Strumbellas are a six-piece rock band from Canada that consists of Simon Ward, David Ritter, Jon Hembrey, Isabel Ritchie, Darryl James, and Jeremy Drury. The band formed back in 2008 and released their self-titled EP just one year later. In 2012 the band released their debut album My Father And The Hunter, an album that won them both fans and recognition from the industry. The release of their sophomore album We Still Move On Dance Floors won them various accolades, including their first JUNO award. The Strumbellas’ last album Hope was released in 2016 and the single “Spirits” reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. Now, the band is working on releasing their fourth studio album which is set to be released sometime this year.
