EA Apologizes After Removing Colin Kaepernick’s Name From A Song In Madden 19′

EA Sports 'Madden NFL 18' during the Electronic Arts EA Play event

Video game maker EA Sports has apologized about “an unfortunate mistake” in removing NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s name from a soundtrack in the Madden NFL 19 video game.

For the second consecutive year, the Madden NFL video game appears to have edited a song on its soundtrack to exclude the name of quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

In the game, EA edited out the song “Big Bank,” by YG, for vulgarity and Kaepernick’s name has been removed from the verse on the game.

EA Sports apologized in a statement for omitting Kaepernick’s name, and called the song’s alteration “an unfortunate mistake.”
