Do NOT Try This At Home

a bottle of cheap vodka and a tall boy can of four loko hard seltzer

Big news! We’re now live on your radio all the way until noon.  You can still get us on your smart home assistant listening box thing (just tell Alexa and Google to play Jason and Deb). Or you can just download the 101X app on your phone and stream us from there!  And there’s always the good old podcast.

Producer Nick’s Four Loko Experiment

Everyone knows Producer Nick’s signature drink is the vodka hard seltzer.  Usually he uses one of Bud Light’s various flavors of hard seltzer, but over the weekend he decided to mix things up and try one of Four Loko’s new hard seltzers.  It’s 12% alcohol and he could only find a tall-boy can of the Black Cherry flavor.  Jason had a handful of friends over for a Memorial Day pool party (under ten people and all six feet apart) and Nick figured that was a perfect time to test his Four Loko seltzer vodka concoction.  The bad news is it tastes like gasoline, but the good news is it still works.  Perhaps too well since Nick didn’t remember hurting Jason’s feelings by predicting Jason would gain back all his odyssey weight by the end of 2021.  Jason was even bold enough to predict that he will never get back above 280lbs the rest of his life.  He’s even willing to lay 10 to 1 odds to anyone willing to put up $1000 against him.

That Guy

Speaking of Jason’s weight loss… No Matter Hard I Try, I Can’t Gain Weight Guy, don’t be that guy. Jason’s Bumblina is a teeny-tiny person, and not just when she’s standing next him, but she’s one of those people who just can’t keep weight on.  We tried explaining to him that it’s a legitimate issue with some people and a lot of the time they’re trying to build muscle, not just weight, but he was undeterred.  He even decided to offer up his expertise in packing on the pounds and become a weight-gain expert.  He even offered to guarantee you’ll pack on 10 pounds in the first month or your money back.

I Love You Call

As a sign of the times, we’ve pivoted the I Love You Call from calling random business to calling your loved ones who might need an extra boost in these trying times.  Today we called listener Christianne’s friend Heather. They’ve literally been friends since birth and call themselves “wombmates” because their parents were pregnant at the same time.  Sadly Heather’s father passed away last week from Covid-19 and she had to drive across the country to Maryland for a small memorial ceremony.  So she really needed all the extra love she could get.  Luckily we had a fantastic chat despite the grim circumstances and we think we really helped brighten Heather’s day. If you’ve got someone you think needs some extra love these days, let us know!
