(5/13/18) Monty's Catch of the Day - Jungle

I am so excited to present today's catch of the day...it comes from the UK band Jungle. Back in 2014, Jungle released the self-titled debut album that was a mixture of electronic, dance, funk, and soul. It was a new and fresh sound, which is why it went on to become my #1 album of that year. They have been very quiet since the album release...well, they are back!!! Earlier this week they released two new singles called "House in LA" and "Happy Man". In a rare move, I decided to make tracks my "catches of the day". All I can say is absolutely brilliant. I'm already in love with both songs, and I can't wait to see them (for a 3rd & 4th time) at this year's ACL Fest. Straight from their press release...
"Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, the production duo behind Jungle, have been splitting time between London and Los Angeles for the making of their forthcoming sophomore album that they described as a, 'Post-apocalyptic radio station playing break-up songs. It’s like you’re tuning into a fucked -up station, catching little bits.' They also revealed that late last year they took a break from the recording studio to 'road-test new material to intimate crowds…(which) constitutes part of their second album's recording process' and as Lloyd-Watson further explains, 'We’re playing the tracks live, gauging the reaction, and tweaking the record..It’s made it better.'"
