Today’s catch comes from American DJ, producer, and musician Daniel Goldstein…all of his fans know him as Lane 8. He’s making music out of Denver, Colarado these days and just released his 3rd full length album on Friday called Brightest Lights. Let me tell you my friends, it’s a good one. Not only do you get three colaborations with Poliça, but you get one of my favs on the record and today’s catch, “Road (ft. Arctic Lake)“. In 2016, Lane 8 made an interesting stance while on tour when he informed all attendees that they are prohibited from recording the shows with cell phones or cameras on the basis of encouraging them to be present in the moment. He still encourages the same philosophy on all present and futures shows as well…including the sold out show at Emo’s on 2/15. This is what he had to say about his approach to this new LP…
“We are so bombarded with negative energy at the moment, especially on the internet, and in my opinion you have to literally and consciously remove yourself from the loop at times to remember all the positive and amazing things happening every day. ‘Brightest Lights’ is about focusing on that positivity in the world.“
