Smashing Pumpkins To Play 30th Anniversary Show in New Jersey

The Smashing Pumpkins are gearing up for their 30th anniversary show to be held at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey on August 2nd. But this will be no ordinary Smashing Pumpkins show-- there’s a star studded lineup of special guests ready to join the band onstage. According to Rolling Stone, the Pumpkins’ special 30th anniversary show will feature Courtney Love, Peter Hook, AFI frontman Davey Havok, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, the Killers’ Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer as well as Mark McGrath.

The show comes as a stop on their Shiny and Oh So Bright North American reunion tour, the group’s first in 18 years. The shows have mostly featured songs from the band’s first five albums, and a few covers here and there, including a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” at their kickoff show in Glendale, Arizona last week. The 30th anniversary show promises “a career-spanning setlist, never before seen production and more surprises,” according to a statement. The tour will finish out in October with two shows in Europe, one in the U.K. and one in Italy. The Pumpkins’ may not be stopping in Texas this time around, but you can still jam out to their brand new reunion single, “Solara,” on all major streaming platforms.
