This weekend, Comedy Central hosted the roast of Die Hard star, Bruce Willis, the star of 101x Summer Cinema feature Die Hard, which is considered to be one of the greatest action movies of all time. The cult classic has long been the subject of one central debate: is it a Christmas movie? The film takes place around the holiday, but the plot itself doesn’t necessarily revolve around it.
Technically, it could take place at any other time, sans all the lights on set. Well, John McLane himself has finally come out from the woodwork and thrown his opinion into the ring, concluding his Comedy Central roast with the line, “Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie!” There’s no way to know if even this proclamation is enough to put the debate to rest, but only time will tell.
The Roast of Bruce Willis will premiere on Comedy Central on July 29th.
