ACL Spotlight: Car Seat Headrest

The fest officially commences tomorrow morning and we’re continuing our spotlight series today with Car Seat Headrest, the internet’s newest favorite lo-fi indie rockers based in Seattle, Washington.

25-year-old Will Toledo self-released a total of 12 albums on the music sharing site Bandcamp before signing to Matador Records in 2015 and has since released two albums and his most recent single “War is Coming (If You Want It)” with the label. Now kicked up to the next level with accompaniment from a full live band, Car Seat Headrest’s new sound is a perfect mashup of Matador’s all-star roster with influences from Pavement, Guided By Voices, and Yo La Tengo all audible in their jangly, ultra-catchy, weirdo rock tracks that we can’t stop listening to.

Peep the video for “Vincent” down below and don’t miss your chance to see them live Saturday on Weekend One and Two at 2:00 pm on the Honda stage.
