A note sent all around the world, delivered and dedicated to essential workers.

To honor those who have been on the fronlines during this pandemic, Weezer released a new song called “Hero.” The new track will be featured in the band’s upcoming album Van Weezer.

“This one is for the stay at home dreamers, the zoom graduators, the sourdough bakers, and the essential workers,” tweeted the band.

“Well, everybody needs a hero, but I’m not everybody else/I walk alone, yeah,” sings frontman Rivers Cuomo. The new music video shows hundreds of fans passing on a note to one another, eventually reaching its destination and allowing viewers to read the special message:

“Your bravery and selflessness are awe-inspiring. You are the reason we shall rock another day. Life is good, and for all of this, we thank you,” signed Cuomo.

In honor of their new release, the band is working with Postmates and Feed Hero Nurses to deliver meals to nurses at a Los Angeles hospital.

Van Weezer was set to drop this month, however the band decided to postpone the album release date due to coronavirus.
