The 1975 Share Video For New Single “People”

The 1975

The 1975 have just released a new single/video titled “People,” which is set to be featured on their forthcoming album Notes On A Conditional Form. The song, while very different than the others, maintains the politically conscious theme found in last month’s self-titled track featuring an essay from 16-year old climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

The music video itself was directed by Matty Healy, Warren Fu, and Ben Ditto and imitates the type of sensory overload many of our youth experience today while online (which earned the video a seizure warning). Watch the new video below.

While the new album was originally thought to be a companion piece to their 2018 release A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, frontman Matty Healy told NME that “it’s never going to be a continuation or an association with ‘A Brief Inquiry’. It’s a completely different record. Six months now is the same as what three years was before. Think about the amount of shit that happens in six months’ time. It will be a different thing and a different time.”

Notes On A Conditional Form will be released on February 21st, 2020 via Interscope/Dirty Heads.
