The 1975 Share New Song “The Birthday Party” Along With Music Video

The 1975

The 1975 just released their newest single ‘The Birthday Party’ along with an animated music video where the band visits a digital detox center. This is the fifth song and fourth proper single on their upcoming album Notes on a Conditional Form. ‘The 1975’, ‘People’, ‘Frail State of Mind’, and most recently ‘Me & You Together Song’ were the first singles released earlier this year.

The band collaborated with director Ben Ditto and co-director/animator Jon Emmony to create a 3D animated video of a place where people can go and escape technology. The 1975’s frontman, Matty Healy, described ‘The Birthday Party’ as being about the “interesting social minutiae of house parties.” Elements of the new music video, in addition to their digital detox website Mindshower, will be featured in their live concert performances.

Their LP is set to be released on April 24th and their North American Tour will launch just three days later in Houston with Phoebe Bridgers and Beadadoobee opening. On April 29th, The 1975 will be visiting Austin at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater at the Circuit of the Americas as a part of the 101X Concert Series. Last year, the band stopped by for a 101X-Session at Orb Recording Studios to play a live and acoustic version of their hit songs ‘Woman’, ‘Be My Mistake’ and ‘102.’ Check out our video of The 1975 answering fun fan questions their exclusive performance below.
