Chris Cornell’s Guns N’ Roses Cover Released on His Birthday

Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell would have turned 56-years-old today. To honor the late artist, Cornell’s family shared an unreleased cover of the Guns N’ Roses classic track “Patience.”

“That recording was inspired by our daughter Toni, who was a huge GNR fan and asked her dad to teach her to play it on the guitar. His cover is so hauntingly beautiful; it brought it all back in a rush of bittersweet memories,” wrote Chris Cornell’s estate on the artist’s Facebook page.

The cover was recorded back in 2016. Chris Cornell’s sound engineer still had the recording, and reminded the Cornell family of it. “His birthday seemed the perfect time to share this and celebrate Chris, his voice, music , stories and art,” they stated on the Facebook post.

“Releasing music that was special to Chris keeps a part of him here with us- his heart and his soul. His love and his legacy.”
