The Hi, How Are You Project has announced the lineup for Austin’s Hi, How Are You Day 2020—an annual event that celebrates the life and legacy of the late Daniel Johnston. Back for its third year, the tribute concert will be headlined by Cage The Elephant and will feature performances by White Denim, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Jason Falkner, Katie Schecter, and more to be announced.
“This year’s Hi How Are You Day will have special significance as it’s the first event since Daniel’s passing. Many of the artists who will be performing have a long and close history with Daniel and his music,” said Tom Gimbel, longtime manager for Daniel Johnston and Co-Founder of the Hi, How Are You Project, in the official press release. “Their support has been really meaningful over the past two months. I’m excited to see that spirit of love and community take the stage at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on January 22.”
As mentioned above, Hi, How Are You Day will be held on January 22nd (Daniel’s birthday) at ACL Live. Tickets will go on sale Friday, December 6th. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Hi, How Are You Project, a non-profit organization inspired by the work of Daniel Johnston that works to create dialogue around mental help by funding research, events, and creating comprehensive training programs.
