Anyone else get super stoked seeing Austin’s own Black Pumas on television Wednesday night?

Celebrities and artists celebrated Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States on the night of January 20. Featured in that lineup were Black Pumas. The Austin-based group performed during the televised Inauguration Day Celebrating America concert; marking a notable moment for fans, and viewers who discovered the duo for the first time last night.

The band took the stage at the Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater and performed their hit track “Colors” from their 2019 debut self-titled album. Following the mesmerizing performance, “Colors” jumped from #1424 to #4 on the iTunes Song Chart in the United States.

Black Pumas frontman Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada earned three Grammy nominations this year. The categories they’re up for are Record of the Year for “Colors,” American Roots Performance for “Colors,” and Album of the Year.
