Billie Eilish Performs Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, only this time, the setting looked much more familiar than everyone else’s quarantine setup. That’s because the 18-year-old artist used a cutboard cut-out of NPR’s actual Tiny Desk office space.

“It’s still real. It’s just not in-person real,” said Eilish about the realistic backdrop. The artist performed her two latest singles “my future” and “everything i wanted.” Eilish started off singing and playing the keyboard, while Finneas provided vocal harmonies and guitar. The two eventually swap places on keyboard during “everything i wanted.”

Eilish took a moment to speak about the adjusted times we’re living in. “Quarantine’s been weird. I know you all feel the same, it’s been weird.” She concluded on a hopeful note about the future. “I think the future is something to be super hopeful in, and the unknown and what is to come… we’ll be okay one day, maybe not right now but that’s what’s making me hold on.”

Last week, Billie Eilish performed at the virtual Democratic National Convention. The artist gave a powerful speech before the performance, showing her support to the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. “We all have to vote like our lives and the world depend on it, because they do,” said the 18-year-old artist.
