BASTROP COUNTY:

Of Bastrop County’s 251 confirmed coronavirus cases, Elgin has 77, which is exponentially more than either the City of Bastrop or Smithville, which have only 18 cases between the two of them. And now, the Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center says 31 of the city’s positive cases have come from within its walls, including 20 of its residents. Two of Bastrop County’s three deaths have also come from inside of Elgin’s city limits.

COMAL COUNTY:

97 of Comal County’s 121 confirmed cases of COVID-19 re no longer considered to be active. Comal County Public Health says those 97 patients have recovered from their illness, and only 17 cases are still active. Seven people have died since the first case was discovered earlier this year.

HAYS COUNTY:

Hays County sees a jump in active cases, while its number of recoveries has remained flat over the past day. According to county health officials, 441 cases have been confirmed overall, 203 of which are currently active. Five have died and 233 have recovered. Only six patients are currently hospitalized.

TRAVIS COUNTY:

Travis County has found 3815 cases of coronavirus since March, 98 of which have been fatal. As Austin Public Health continues to focus on demographic breakdowns of infected patients, the vast majority of those deaths have involved Caucasian men above the age of 60. As of this morning, 89 people are hospitalized and 3098 have recovered.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY:

Williamson County’s hospitals remain well equipped to handle COVID-19 patients. There are only seven people hospitalized in Williamson County this morning because of the virus, four of whom are on a ventilator. But 54-percent of hospital beds are still available. 163 cases are still active, but 507 are recoveries.
