Today’s catch comes from the legendary electronic band…as a matter of fact you could call the music royalty…I’m talking about Depeche Mode. They revealed this past week that they’ll be releasing their 15th album called Memento Mori on 3/24, and will also be launching a summer 2023 tour with a stop in San Antonio on 4/2. This will be the 1st album release since bandmate Andrew “Fletch” Fletcher passed away last year. Today’s catch is called “Ghosts Again” and it contains that wonderful & vintage DM sound that has made them one of the most influential electronic artists to date. In a press release, Depeche Mode (Dave Gahan & Martin Gore) has said…
“To me, ‘Ghosts Again’ just captures this perfect balance of melancholy and joy. It’s not often that we record a song that I just don’t get sick of listening to—I’m excited to be able to share it.”
Regarding the upcoming album Memento Mori they have said…
“We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning. Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”
