(11/1/20) Monty’s Catch of the Day – SG Lewis

SG Lewis - "Feed the Fire"

Today’s catch comes from Samuel George Lewis, better known as SG Lewis. The British musician/producer now resides in L.A., and has become one of the hottest artist in electronic music. He has definitely caught my attention and earned my respect in the past three years with his collection of EP’s and singles. Lewis has worked with Dua Lipa, Dornik, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur, Clairo, AlunaGeorge, Ruel, Robyn, and many others. But now it’s his time…he recently announced that he is putting the final touches on his debut solo album called times. It is set for release on 2/21. Today’s catch, “Feed The Fire“, features the vocals of Lucky Daye and is the latest single to come from the LP. Straight from his Twitter:

This album is an ode to the present moment, and the finite chances we have to celebrate it. It’s an exploration of escapism and euphoria, and the memories attached to those experiences.

He also added…”So much of this album was inspired by my love of Jamiroquai, so to have Matt Johnson & Simon Hale involved on this song is very surreal.

I have to tell you that this song is absolutely fantastic and definitely has that disco/Jamiroquai vibe feeding into it. This could possibly be the first highly acclaimed album of 2021, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. You can listen to today’s catch “Feed The Fire (ft. Lucky Daye)” by SG Lewis in the YouTube player below. Good things!
