Austin City Limits Music Festival Schedule Revealed
7/24/2013 11:31:00 AM
Expanding to two weekends this year, The Austin City Limits Music Festival offers twice the music for locals and out of towners to enjoy. But with the bevvy of bands on deck, scheduling your day might just be the hardest part. Well get ready for decision making time, because the official schedule was announced this morning and features MUSE, Depeche Mode, and Queens Of The Stone Age on Fridays, October 4 and 11. Kings of Leon, The Cure, Wilco, and Passion Pit will take the stage on Saturday, October 5 and October 12. Each weekend will wrap up with music from Lionel Richie, Atoms for Peace, and Phoenix on Sunday, October 6 and 13. The full schedule is available at http://www.aclfestival.com/2013-schedule
And it wouldn't be a festival without conflicts, of course. Among the biggest head-to-heads are Muse vs. Depeche Mode on Friday nights, the triumverate of hipster cred with Jake Bugg vs. Okkervil River vs. Local Natives, also on Friday. Those looking to indulge in some 80's flashback action with The Cure will have a hard time Saturday night, if they intend to catch Kings of Leon, who play simultaneously across the park. Passion Pit go head-to-head with Wilco as well, and Phoenix overlapping with rock supergroup Atoms for Peace.
Though the majority of the acts will play both weekends, a handful of local and emerging artists will vary from Weekend One to Weekend Two.
Bands playing Weekend One only include Shinyribs, The Weeks, Wick-it The Instigator, Aaron Behrens and the Midnight Stroll, Houndmouth, Wild Cub, Peterson Brothers Band, Courrier, Dana Falconberry, Bobby Jealousy, Max Frost, Latasha Lee & The BlackTies, Kristin Diable & The City, Colin Lake, Brooke Waggoner, Endurance, The Stapletones, and Andy Z.
Artists playing only on Weekend Two include Alanna Royale, Cherub, The Dynamites feat. Charles Walker, Shakey Graves, Luella and the Sun, X Ambassadors, Sons Of Fathers, My Jerusalem, Not In The Face, Whiskey Shivers, The Preservation, CALEB, Shannon LaBrie, Andrew Duhon, Tyree Morris & Hearts of Worship, Heavenly Voices Choir.
