Watch: Franz Ferdinand's Right Action

Franz Ferdinand is taking out their new video for "Right Action", the one-third-of-the-title track off their new LP Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. The album is set for an August 27 release that coincides with their simultaneous world tour after four years of musical silence from the Scottish pop preps.

For their first video from the right album, the Glasgow guys reunite with Swedish director Jonas Odell of former "Take Me Out" video glory. The similarities between that first hit's video and the band's most recent foray into catchy cadences are obvious. Odell again uses animation interspersed with live action of the band playing to create a surreal (and in this case, vintage) experience. The use of pop colors and the choice of animation lends a 60s vibe to the piece while the displayed lyrics make the whole thing reminiscent of a variety show intro. The song itself, is, as a Ferdinand fan should expect, a dance tune aimed at the dancefloor. Just keep it 60s with the twist and jive.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
