Queens of the Stone Age appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman last night, June 5th to perform their latest single "My God is the Sun," and are scheduled to appear again tonight. The song is just one of 10 on their recently released album ...Like Clockwork and is accompanied by an animated music video. The Late Show performance gave fans a preview of what to expect from the new album and their upcoming tour through Europe, Canada, and the United States. Their upcoming tour will have them traveling the world performing at many ampitheaters and festivals, including both weekends of the upcoming Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Their new album ...Like Clockwork has been picking up rave reviews since it's release this past Tuesday, June 4th. To this point, the album has not picked up a single negative review according to Metacritic.com. Fans who have been waiting since 2007 for another studio release have not been waiting in vein. ...Like Clockwork is loaded with A-list guest appearances featuring Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl on drums for half the album. Other appearances include Oscar-winner and NIN guitarist Trent Reznor as well as Elton John's piano playing and contributing vocals to "Fairweather Friends."
Clockwork is a self-produced album, keeping the band in complete control of their sound. ...Like Clockwork is the first studio album by QOTSA distributed under the independent Matador Records, marking the end of the Interscope era. The hard work seems to have paid off as frontman Josh Homme's vocal melodies are sure to find their way inside anyone’s head.
