Because of the outpouring of support from volunteer blood donors, the hospitals in Central Texas including those in the area of West, TX, are adequately stocked with blood and blood product at this time.
The Blood Center of Central TX is now scheduling donation appointments for the coming weeks to ensure a stable and balanced blood supply. Persons with O-Negative blood type are especially encouraged to call and schedule an appointment.
The Blood Center extends heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the overwhelming response of the community including the more than 740 heroes who donated blood yesterday and the many local businesses that supported the effort.
Thank you to Chili’s on Lamar and 45th Street, Hey Cupcake, Taco Deli, Fuddruckers, Round Rock and Speedy’s Taco Shop in Round Rock for providing food and refreshment for our staff who worked so hard throughout the day and into the evening hours.
The response to this week’s tragic events is a testament to our community where neighbors can be counted on to lend a hand.
