It's hard to listen to Austin post-rock icons Explosions in the Sky without being affected. Something about the slowly building melodies and lack of vocals inspires a vague nostalgia. In the upcoming video for "Postcard from 1952," the band draws on this unusual power by recreating and expanding upon scenes from actual 1950's photographs. A recently released a teaser for the video showcases some of the photographs, and features an interview with directors Peter Simonite and Annie Gunn, who explain the vision behind the project.
