De-Nickfication 2.1

Figured I'd recap the weekend and breakdown my plans for this week.  Now I'm not quite as hardcore into the paleo diet as the rest of the people in my Crossfit Central classes, but I try to stick to it as much as possible. The goal is to be 80/20 with my diet. So I'm not bummed out about going off diet a few times this weekend. I most definitely over indulged in the deviled eggs that my aunt made for Easter with the family. Unfortunately she fills them with egg yolk and mayonnaise instead of humus. In a perfect world they would have been made with humus and still tasted that good, but at least they were gluten-free. I'm assuming...  I also went out drinking on Saturday, but stuck to vodka sodas. Still need to cut out all those empty calories. I think after working a week full of 12 hour days and 4 hours of sleep I need to cut loose a bit and pretend I had time for a normal social life for a change.  The chicken and waffles I ate at work on Sunday I have no excuses for. That was purely to gorge on some horrible food because I was hung over.

But so far today it's all been good food in reasonable portions and I'm about to head out to the grocery store. I'm pretty bolognaised out right now. So instead of that I'm going to try out a Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo paleo recipe using kelp noodles and cashews that somehow make the sauce, and while I was looking up that I found a paleo sloppy joe recipe. Probably put it on some lettuce leads instead of buns, but I can't promise I won't treat myself with an actual hamburger bun sloppy joe or two as well. Like I said it's 80/20. Apparently you can also use portabella mushrooms for buns, but honestly that's not quite something I'm ready for just yet. For me mushrooms are still just fungi that grow on decayed organisms, not food.

As always please Like Restora Austin on Facebook and follow them on Twitter, and while you're at it show some love to Snap Kitchen and Crossfit Central. And me too I guess. You know, if you want to.
