The De-Nickification Of Nick: Act II Begins

So after a short intermission for SXSW, the De-Nickification continues. Apparently Jason and Deb are going to be sticklers about losing the whole 30lbs thing. Looks like I've got some more work to do.

Fortunately, while I thought my time at Crossfit Central was done with the conclusion of their 8 week I AM Crossfit challenge, I got some good news today, and I've actually got two more weeks.  We're still working on ways to keep working out with Crossfit Central. I'm extremely hopeful we'll be able to make it happen because the one thing I've found out in the last two weeks is that it's really really really hard to find the motivation to work out on my own.

When people have asked me about what I like best about Crossfit it's always their staff and support network that I spend the most time talking about. To me that's the real value of Crossfit. When you've got great coaches pushing you and a group of people who you see in class all the time it's easy to make it work. When it's just me trying to convince myself to go run after getting home from a 12-hour workday it's easier to just tell myself to shut up.  On the plus-side after 8 weeks of Crossfit my running abilities have been cranked to 11. The other day I did 4 miles like it was nothing.  Well maybe not nothing, but considering the first time I ran 400m at the start of Crossfit I threw up on the side of Burnet Rd I'll take it.

In the mean time you can check out all the before and after photos of everyone who signed up for the I AM Crossfit challenge. Looking through the drastic changes a lot of other people have gone through it makes me feel like my results are sub-par.
