The De-Nickification Of Nick: Just Do It!

Ugh.

This morning I woke up and immediately felt dread at having to work out today at Crossfit Central. After being able to sleep in all last week and having Monday off I've been struggling to get back into my old sleep schedule. I've been only getting four hours of sleep the past two nights and Monday's workout was brutal with a couple of 800m runs and deadlifts. I spent ten minutes in bed trying to come up with a good excuse to miss tonight’s workout. Unfortunately none came to me. I decided to wear a Nike shirt that had their slogan Just Do It as a way to self-motivate. It doesn't seem to be working all that much, but at this point I've come too far to start slacking off now.

The good news is that I've been really good on my diet this week. I joined the stations weight loss competition going on and, while I'm trying not to pay any attention to the weekly weight check in, I have yet to gain any weight from previous weeks. I think I also discovered a new meal to add to my rotation. I had some left over sweet potato fries from last week and didn't have time to scramble some eggs this morning, so I dumped some turkey chili over the sweet potato fries, added a dab of high-fructose corn syrup-free ketchup on top, and voilà! I have what I hope is a healthy chili fries breakfast.

Saturday I'm doing another outdoor Crossfit exercise that is free for the public to attend. It's at 8am, under the Mopac bridge by Austin High School. I encourage anyone who wants to get a taste of what Crossfit is like, or if you just want a good workout, to show up.
