Playing Possum

Last night, Jason & Deb were MC-ing the grand opening of Top Golf Austin over at The Domain but that’s not all they did, oh no! Besides testing out their golfing skills, Deb got to speak with former NBA player Robert Horry. The only thing was, Robert's hair smelt like one of Deb's ex-boyfriends. And then there was silver-medal winning Olympic decathlete, Trey Hardee. Suffice it to say, it wasn't just the conversation that intrigued Deb. Jason was astonished to hear he was less famous than Hardee. Most surprising though, Hardee is a fan of the show! His favorite segment is Deb's I Love You Call. Check out Deb's attempt at golf below!

We want your mom to get something awesome for having to put up with you all these years.  So we're having moms and their children play our version of the Newlywed Game that we cleverly call The Newly-Mommed Game. You can get all the details on the contest and how you can enter your mom here. Today we were joined by the lovely Julie who was playing with her mom, Maxine. The pair did really well, getting 3 out of 5 answers correct. Also, many thanks to Julie for bringing some breakfast taco's this morning. It made this intern's day! Congratulations to you both and good luck in the grand prize drawing. Just for playing today, Julie and Maxine received a 1-hr Massage from Massage Envy and a $50 giftcard from Pro Flowers.

Go to IMDB and look up an actor and it will tell you the top 3 movies or shows that that actor is best known for. In this game, Alex reads off the names of the top 3 and Jason & Deb have to guess which actor or actress he’s describing. Today, Jason & Deb were battling it off for Bart and Rusty respectively. The pair were playing for tickets to go see the sold-out Of Monsters and Men who are playing at Stubb’s BBQ on Monday, June 3rd. Deb dominated, securing lucky listener Rusty the tickets. Listen in for more chances to win tickets to Of Monsters and Men as well as tons of other great shows. Check them out and get your tickets on the 101X Concerts Page!

As you all know, Producer Nick has been getting his Crossfit on in the De-Nickification of Nick. This week though, he had a slightly different experience. Being in the radio game, Nick's schedule changes a lot and he can't always make the same Crossfit sessions. So recently, Nick found himself going to his first co-ed crossfit workout. The only thing was, he was the only man in the bunch. This wasn't a problem though and the workout was just as intense. When it came to motivational talk from the trainer, “Come on ladies! Oh… and Nick!” wasn't always the best!

Tuesdays we take a peek into Deb’s Diary to see what it’s like to be a hot, British chick living in Austin. Yesterday, Deb took out her dog Blue to pee in her back yard and to her surprise, she saw Blue going at a big ball of fur. Worried that he had killed something Deb had her boyfriend investigate. But what was it? He discovered that it was a possum but when he returned, it was gone! The possum was playing real life possum and Blue had not killed anything after all! Now Deb has a hankering for a pet possum. We're not convinced. Although a pygmy possum is pretty cute. Read more at Deb’s Diary

We're all about supporting animal charities and bringing you the happiness of animals in your own home.  So you should check out our friends at Love-A-Bull, who are currently looking for a home for Jack Blac, who promises to be at least as funny as his namesake.  He's great with people and other dogs.  Give him and the other adopt-a-bulls a look here.

Every day we “trivialize” Deb by asking her quiz questions, then laughing when she doesn’t know the answers. Today we tested Deb's "TV Sitcom Mom" knowledge. Using her tried and true method of brains+science, Deb was able to get some of the answers. For our listener Jaryd, Deb didn't need to get them right, just predict her results accurately, and he did, perfectly. For his effort, Jaryd scored a pair of tickets to see The Killers playing this Friday, May 10th at the Cedar Park Center. Congratulations Jaryd! For more chances to win tickets to great shows, tune in daily from 6 to 10am and get your tickets directly online at the 101X Concerts Page.

Three women who went missing between 2002 and 2004 in Cleveland, Ohio have been found alive and safe. Police have arrested three brothers, all in their 50s, in connection with the kidnappings. Amanda Berry, who had been kidnapped in 2003, broke free of the house and was able to call police alerting the authorities. Now that everyone is safe and well, we can make jokes. In a recent interview with an uncomfortable looking reporter, the neighbor, Charles Ramsey told him that he “knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man’s arms. Dead giveaway.” Check out the video below.
