Jason, Order A Pizza, Order A Pizza Now
4/16/2013 10:55:00 AM
We don't taken too kindly to injustice, and today Jason needed to make a stand. He presented Exhibits: A, B, & 3 for our inspection. What grave wrong needs to be corrected? The homophobic divider in the mens urinal section in the restroom. The metal divider is large, cumbersome and unnecessary. It's an outdated reminder of homophobia in the world and as such must be destroyed! Or... it could just stay there. What do you think? Do we really need those dividers? What are they there for? Let us know in the comments below or on our Jason & Deb Facebook Page.
As you all may know, our Producer Nick has been undergoing a De-Nickification, that is, he’s getting healthy, inside and out. As a reward for achieving his goals, the good people at Restora Austin are going to give him new hair with a NeoGraft procedure. Today, Nick tells us that everything’s “going good,” but we wanted more! Where have the video blogs been? Nick assured us that if we’d looked in the last 5 seconds, we would’ve seen that there’s one up there, and there is! Check it out below. In this video, we get to see behind the scenes with the professional CrossFit Central coaches training for the Crossfit Games Open. It's a good start but we want more, so more video blogs we shall have in the near future.
Jason let us know that he’s been doing his part for the De-Nickification cause. On Friday, the pair were both at the Yellow Rose for a 7 hour extravanganza and by the end of the night, Nick was starving. According to Jason, Nick told him, “Jason, order a pizza, order a pizza now, I’m hungry!” And you know what Jason did? Nothing! That’s right, in consideration of the De-Nickification process, or so he claims, Jason refused the order and Nick was sent to bed hungry. Check out the video blog below and go to Nick’s blog to see more De-Nickification.
If you haven't yet, help Nick out by following Restora Austin on Facebook and following them on Twitter, and while you're at it show some love to Snap Kitchen and Crossfit Central for all the great help they've given Nick.
NICK'S IPHONE CASE IS PINK & SPARKLY:
Producer Nick has a new iPhone 5, surpassing both Jason & Deb for the newest one in the set. We all agreed on one thing though, as soon as he got it he had to get a protective case. Deb knows all too well what it's like to drop an iPhone, watching as if in slow motion as it falls to the floor, cringing as the screen shatters, and paying for repairs. But Deb learned her lesson. She's only had to replace the screen on her phone 5, 6 times. But that's besides the point. The case Nick acquired is not quite what we had in mind. It's pink, it's sparkly, and not manly at all. But whatever! As long as he's happy. In more iPhone news, Deb might be leaving the Apple Bandwagon to get one of those Samsung HTC Microsoft Google phones with the really good camera, you know the one. Deb's fed up with the quality of photos that her current iPhone takes. How is she supposed to get a good close up of a singer's bum with her iPhone? With a problem as big, or rather, important as that, it just may be the end for Deb & Apple.
LET’S TALK TALKIES:
Go to IMDB and look up an actor and it will tell you the top 3 movies or shows that that actor is best known for. In this game, Alex reads off the names of the top 3 and Jason & Deb have to guess which actor or actress he’s describing. Today, Jason & Deb were battling it off for listeners Mike & Dave and the chance to see Mumford & Sons in concert at the Austin360 Amphitheatre June 8th & 9th. Despite Jason's visions of greatness, there was nothing he could do to stop Deb from crushing his dreams, getting lucky listener Dave the tickets. Congratulations Dave! Jason & Deb could agree on one thing, IMDB needs to be reset! What's up with Fred Armison not having Portlandia in his top 3?! For more great opportunities to win, listen in Monday-Friday 6-10am or go to the 101X Concerts Page to purchase your tickets now.
Tuesdays we take a peek into Deb’s Diary to see what it’s like to be a hot, British chick living in Austin. Today Deb will be going for an MRI. For those less familiar with the process, this involves Deb lying perfectly still in a giant tube where she’ll be assaulted with loud noises for twenty minutes as the magnetic resonance imager takes pictures of her insides. The only thing though, she’s feeling a bit better today. Does she really need to go? We think yes, but Deb isn’t sure. Read more at Deb’s Diary.
PET OF THE WEEK:
We're all about supporting animal charities, and bringing you the happiness of animals in your own home. So you should check out our friends at Love-A-Bull, who are currently looking for a home for Tiggy, who has clearly lived with a family before, and she wants to be part of yours now. She's very well trained around dogs and people. Give her and the other adopt-a-bulls a look here.
I LOVE YOU CALL:
At 8:50 Deb calls a random business and tries to get the person answering the phone to say, “I love you.” Today we called up the good people at Jefferson Baptist Temple Church in Indiana. It's small church with a big mission and Pastor Tommy claimed to have a shepherd’s heart but when it came to the crunch, he had no love to give in one of the best I Love You Calls in quite some time. If you missed it, be sure to check out our podcast, you can download it on the MorningX Podcast Page, or via iTunes.
DOES DEB KNOW STUFF:
Every day we “trivialize” Deb by asking her quiz questions, then laughing when she doesn’t know the answers. Today we tested Deb on medical terminology & acronyms. While she might need to brush up on what PR, SOB, and

Boston: Yesterday afternoon 2 bombs went off in quick succession near the Boston Marathon finishing line. Authorities are still trying to determine the details surrounding the bombing and as of yet do not know who was behind the incident or why. So far 3 people have been reported dead as a result of the bombing, including an 8 year old boy. An additional 144 injuries have been reported with 17 in critical condition. In an address to the nation, President Obama promised that those responsible would be found and brought to justice. “We will find out who did this. We'll find out why they did this,” he said. “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice.” The President also pledged the full support of the federal government in delivering any and all assistance to Boston and those affected. According to the BBC, “Unconfirmed reports said two other unexploded devices were found near the end of the race but were safely defused.” Earlier unconfirmed reports of additional unexploded bombs
You hear about Mexican drug lords and how they control everything, and sometimes you think to yourself, is this real? A former drug czar who was charged with organized crime after allegedly receiving $400k to obstruct justice was cleared recently. What Deb wants to know, is it really because all the prosecutors’ families were threatened?
In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, the NHL and NBA have made changes to their schedule. The Boston Bruins versus the Ottawa Senators has been postponed indefinitely. It’s currently unclear when the match will be rescheduled. In basketball, the NBA cancelled the Boston Celtics game versus Indiana Pacers. This game will not be rescheduled as it was the last before playoffs and the result would not affect either team’s position.
Last night Brittney Griner was the first overall pick in the WNBA draft. The 6’8” Baylor University Senior will go to the Phoenix Mercury. PhoenixMercury.com changed its cover page to welcome Griner. It seems they like how big she is.
Former NFL Patriots player, Joe Andruzzi helped marathoners and others affected by yesterday’s Boston bombing. Andruzzi was staying in the nearby Lennox Hotel and photos quickly appeared of the first responders. Remaining modest, Andruzzi later released a statement saying "Marathon Monday should be about uplifting stories, personal challenges and fundraising milestones, but today's bombings irrevocably changed that," the statement said. "While I appreciate the interest in hearing our perspective on today's horrific events, the spotlight should remain firmly on the countless individuals -- first responders, medics, EMTs, runners who crossed the finish line and kept on running straight to give blood, and the countless civilians who did whatever they could to save lives. They were the true heroes. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this senseless tragedy."
Disgraced, former Rutgers basketball coach Mike Rice is back to work, this time, his team is made up of 12 year old girls. According to Hoops Critic, he's as crazy as ever, allegedly yelling at one of the girls that he "can't even look at" her right now. But don't worry everybody, Rice and the kids were kept under constant adult supervision.
