IT WAS MY TOM FORD SUNGLASSES BONER:
You may remember that about a month ago, Deb suffered a terrible tragedy; she lost her favorite Tom Ford sunglasses. While they have been replaced with some new Ray Bans, the hole left in her heart has not yet been filled. In a moment of weakness, Deb googled “gold Tom Ford sunglasses sale” and came across a, perhaps, less than legit website claiming to sell them for a paltry $120 a pair. Despite warning signs, Deb went ahead and filled out the form to pay only to be told that she wasn’t using a Visa. This was true, she was using her MasterCard. Undeterred, she tried again and within minutes, she had not 1 but 2 e-mails pop up confirming her purchases. Will she receive anything? Watch this space to find out.
LET'S TALK TALKIES:
Go to IMDB and look up an actor or actress and it will tell you the top 3 movies or shows that that actor is best known for. In this game, Alex reads off the names of the top 3 and Jason & Deb have to guess which actor or actress he’s describing. Today, Jason & Deb were battling it off for Francis and JC. After gaining an early lead, Deb held the game 3-1 scoring lucky listener JC tickets to Mumford & Sons who are playing at the Austin360 Amphitheater Saturday June 8th. Listen in for more chances to win and check out more great concerts at the 101X Concert Page.
Producer Nick’s looking good today and it’s about time we got an update on his De-Nickification. His focus recently has been on not overeating. Just because something is healthy doesn’t mean that you can eat as much as you want, the portion size is still important. On the weekend, he was put to the test. During a remote, Nick was lusting after a large chocolate milkshake but after seeing the calorie count, made the right choice and downsized. The De-Nickification is not just about physical well-being, but mental health too, so Nick has been seeing a therapist too. Nick claims that it’s been doing him a lot of good but Jason isn’t happy being named as an invalidator.
Deb bought 10 sauna sessions on Groupon recently but Jason says he’s sick of getting Groupon-ed. He paif $15 for $30 worth of sushi but has yet to use it, and time is running out as soon it will go out of date. If you want to buy it off him, he's currently accepting offers of $17 and up... even though he only paid $15... and he's the one that needs to sell it. But regardless, if you're interested, get in touch!
IS DEB DOING THE POT WRONG?:
On Friday, Deb tried the pot but found she didn’t like it. It hurt her throat, made her paranoid and then she passed out. Where’s the fun in that? What makes the pot so great? Producer Nick says that she shouldn’t smoke it and suggested alternative methods but Deb wasn't convinced. What do you think?
Tuesdays we take a peek into Deb’s Diary to see what it’s like to be a hot, British chick living in Austin. Deb wants to streamline her finances, which is one of the reasons she plans to refinance her house. The other reason, Morgan Stanley has sold her mortgage out from under her feet to a new company. This is not on. When Deb called up the company, the voicemail informed her that they were a debt collection agency. Adding insult to injury, Deb received a letter saying she didn’t have the requisite insurance and needed to purchase “wind insurance.” What’s next? Sun insurance? Cloudy day insurance? Read more at Deb’s Diary.
PET OF THE WEEK:
We're all about supporting animal charities, and bringing you the happiness of animals in your own home. So you should check out our friends at Love-A-Bull, who are currently looking for a home for Tiggy, who has clearly lived with a family before, and she wants to be part of yours now. She's very well trained around dogs and people. Give her and the other adopt-a-bulls a look here.
I LOVE YOU CALL:
At 8:50 Deb calls a random business and tries to get the person answering the phone to say, “I love you.” Today we called up the good people at Stone Gym in Michigan and while Deb got a lot of information on their boxing classes, love was not on the table and Deb was served up with the first buttslam of the week.
DOES DEB KNOW STUFF:
Every day we “trivialize” Deb by asking her quiz questions, then laughing when she doesn’t know the answers. Today we quizzed Deb on her Fresh Prince of Bel-Air knowledge with listener Kat hoping to win tickets to see She & Him playing at ACL-Live on Sunday, June 16th.
Ray J has a new song out everybody and it’s… uh… new. Titled “I Hit It First,” his new song references ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian in word and image under a very thinly wrapped veil. For those of you that don’t remember, Ray J is the one that’s not Kim Kardashian in her infamous sex tape. “It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept,” claimed the singer, “People going way too deep. They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music.” Alright Ray J. You be the judge. You can listen to it here.
The day you’ve all been waiting and wishing for is nearly here! That’s right; Tax Day will be upon us this coming Monday the 15th of April. Make sure you've got all your forms in order and sent off to the Man.
Louisville defeated Michigan last night 82-76 in the final March Madness match-up. In the first half, it was looking like Michigan might prevail, but in the end, it was the Cardinals taking home the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship title. Check out the ESPN highlights here. The Louisville coach also promised earlier in the season that he'd get a tattoo if they won the championship. Do you think he'll follow through? What do you think he should get? Let us know in the comments below.
