That's A Life Lesson For Anything

VEGAS WINGMAN:

Jason is taking his friend, Jake, to Vegas for Cinco de Mayo. Jake's the perfect friend to take because they have the same interests - they both like to gamble and hang out with the ladies. Nick thinks that although Jake could be a great wingman, he isn’t a good enough friend to take to Vegas. He’s really just mad that Jason’s taking him to Atlantic City. Nick said it’s like taking one friend to New York and then taking someone else to Jersey. Not okay.

BLUFF THE DICK FINALS:

Today we had the last two rounds of Bluff The Dick, where we turned the contest on its head: Jason had to bluff the listeners who had bluffed him before. The first round went pretty quickly today, with Tony winning. The second round took a lot longer, with listeners Edward and Chris battling for the trip, but Edward won. Go listen to the podcast to hear the answers and find out how many women he’s slept with.

I LOVE YOU CALL:

”description”At 8:50 Deb calls a random business and tries to get the person answering the phone to say, “I love you.”  Today she called Tanz Mania and talked to Doug. Deb needs to get a tan before she goes to Vegas next weekend, so she had a few questions for Doug. Her friend is a redhead – can they help him? Maybe. He gave her some tanning options; like spray tans. They formed a tanning bond, but it wasn’t strong enough to get an I Love You.

WHERE’S MY FLYING CAR?:

In this segment, Jason highlights something that scientists should have invented by now to make life better, but haven't - like the flying car. Oftentimes they've already been invented, and he just doesn't know about it yet. Jason thinks Internet passwords are getting out of control. His bank recently made him change his password to something that has numbers, symbols, and capital letters. He knows that people think they’re making it more secure – but they’re not. Jason now has his passwords written down near his computer. Which leads him to the flying car - why can’t he have voice recognition or thumbprint scans as his password?

DEAR REDACTED:

Our producer, Nick, is one of the angriest people we know, and we allow him to yell at people with some deniability by removing their names and saying, “Dear Redacted.” Today he called out the person that writes on Nick’s “Dear Redacted” notepad. When you scribble on it you make it dirty and he has to get a new page. Oops – that was Alex. Dear Redacted – If someone’s taking a food order for a group, like from Whataburger, don’t modify your order – just get what they have. That one’s on Jason and Deb. And finally, Dear Redacted – if you’re going to make an irrelevant song cover video on Youtube, use any instrument - as long as it’s not a ukulele. Who even has one of those lying around?

PET OF THE WEEK:

”description”Every week we feature a lovely adoptable dog. This week we're looking for a home for Billie. She's a very sweet puppy whose jaw and pelvis were broken. She’s having surgery on her pelvis and has already had surgery on her jaw, which will be wired shut for 6 weeks while it heals. If you’re interested in adopting Billie, email deb@krox.com for more information. While you’re at it go to Love-A-Bull and take a look, so we can give some other pups great new homes too.

101X ROCK THE PARK:

Trevin On The Radio stopped by the show today to promote his event, Rock the Park Disc Golf Tourney. The tournament is in Dripping Springs at Twin Parks Country Club. It costs $125 for a team of 4 people and it benefits Austin Pets Alive. The top 3 teams win awesome prizes from 101X, Disc Nation, Billy Cannon’s Twin Parks, and Wahoos. Click the links above to get more info.

DOES DEB KNOW STUFF:

Every day we “trivialize” Deb by asking her quiz questions, then laughing when she doesn’t know the answers.  Today she had NFL Draft Trivia. What team has the first pick for the draft? Deb guessed the Redskins, but it was the Colts. Which NFL team has the last pick of the first round? Deb knew it was whoever won the Superbowl, but she wasn’t sure who that was. She guessed the Giants, which was correct. Her brain hurts now.

NEWS:

Yesterday Rick Perry said he would support Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for president. Which is fine – except he already gave his support to Newt Gingrich. Whoops.

SPORTS:

The NFL draft starts tonight. Some of the excitement of the draft is missing this season because we know that the Colts’ first pick is Andrew Luck and that the Redskins will be taking RG3.
