BLUFF THE DICK FINALS:
Today we had the first two final rounds of Bluff The Dick, where we turned the contest on its head: Jason had to bluff the listeners who had bluffed him before. It’s crazy! And it took an extreme amount of time. I will tell you that Ruben and Angela are moving on, but rather than me recounting every correct and incorrect answer, I will just encourage you to listen to the podcast. I promise that it’s at least a little entertaining. You find out which way Jason Dick curves. If you catch my meaning.
SOFTBALL SHORT SHORTS:
Deb plays softball every Tuesday with some friends, and last night they were just getting destroyed. So she’s decided to take her position of catcher to the next level ... by trash talking. Jason finds that totally unacceptable – almost as much as the shorts she was wearing. She was definitely working it. Maybe looked like a working girl. Not telling, just saying.
WANDA SYKES:
We were joined on the phone by Wanda Sykes, who’s going to be performing at Austin’s first-ever Moontower Comedy Festival. We are huge fans of her because of Curb Your Enthusiasm and were a little disappointed to learn that she’s not as frequently foul-mouthed as she appears on TV. Deb tried to prod her to be her character and got a “Laaarry” out of her. We’ll take it. Get more information about her performance this weekend at moontowercomedyfestival.com.
I LOVE YOU CALL:
At 8:50 Deb calls a random business and tries to get the person answering the phone to say, “I love you.” Today she called NASA. That’s right – NASA. They’ve got lots of free things for kids – stickers, pens, and stuff – so she’ll bring her imaginary kids by. In the end, Deb ended up getting a little space love from NASA. That’s right – NASA.
DOES DEB KNOW STUFF:
Every day we “trivialize” Deb by asking her quiz questions, then laughing when she doesn’t know the answers. Today she had Mad Cow Disease trivia. What’s a symptom of mad cow disease in cattle? Deb was not able to identify that it’s that they do become aggressive. What’s a reason that it’s hard to detect it? Deb correctly identified that the disease has a long incubation period. Don’t say we never learned you nothing.
PET OF THE WEEK:
Every week we feature a lovely adoptable dog. This week we're looking for a home for Billie. She's a very sweet puppy whose jaw and pelvis were broken. She’s having surgery on her pelvis and has already had surgery on her jaw, which will be wired shut for 6 weeks while it heals. If you’re interested in adopting Billie, email deb@krox.com for more information. While you’re at it go to Love-A-Bull and take a look, so we can give some other pups great new homes, too.
NEWS:
POTUS was on Jimmy Fallon last night, slow jamming the news. Take a listen here:
