LEMURS IN THE STUDIO:

Today we welcomed Mitch from the Lemurs. We kicked it off with a song called “Black Spot.” The Lemurs are performing March 6th for a Haiti benefit in partnership with
Oxfam International an organization working directly with communities and influence the powerful to improve the lives of poor people and ensure they have a say in decisions that affect them. Oxjam 2010 starts at 6pm, but doors open at 5pm. There is an $8 cover and people can purchase pre-sale tickets at Antone’s Record Shop. For more with the Lemurs visit their
myspace page.
WHO IS MORE IRISH?:

What are you doing on St. Patrick’s Day? We’re gonna be at Fado Irish Pub, and you should be, too. And while you’re there, maybe we can solve a little dispute that’s been going on behind-the-scenes for a while here. When Jason and Deb were hanging out with the proprietors of Fado a few weeks ago, Jason noted what he thought was a phony connection between Deb and the owners because they’re all not from the U.S. But Jason claims he’s more Irish than Deb is. They’ve been fighting about it ever since. Each day the two of them are going to put forth a reason why he or she is more Irish. Day three brings us more reasons. Jason claims his lack of physical fitness can secure his Irishness because supposedly there are no gyms in Ireland. He even searched on Wikipedia for famous Irish athletes and was disappointed to not find any. Deb loves to drink Guinness and even named her cat after the Irish beer. Vote at the poll just over to the right here to determine who’s the real Irishman –Jason O’Dick or Deb O’Keefe. (Even if you think it’s Jason, vote for Deb so that you can see Jason dressed like a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day at Fado.)
LOUIS BLACK:
Every Friday we welcome into the studios our friend from the Austin Chronicle Louis Black. Louis is also the master mind behind SXSW. The first weekend, which is the interactive weekend of SXSW is expected to have a bigger turn out then second weekend, which is the music weekend. Included in the first weekend are the new gaming technology and internet breakthroughs. Louis has confirmed that the Stone Temple Pilots will be performing during SXSW, but cant confirm the MUSE will be here at Stubbs on Saturday. He did say that it is a great rumor though. Also, additional wristbands will be sold next week and on the first night of SXSW. Check the
SXSW website for more details.
SPORTS WITH DDLP:
Every Friday talk to Dennis De La Pena from Fox Sports. Dennis and Jason were forced to talk about girl’s basketball today. Brittney Griner apparently broke a girl’s nose while playing yesterday. Jason was shocked to find out she only got suspended for 2 days. Dennis wasn’t so surprised because it’s not the same as boy’s basketball brawling. Dennis pointed out that the other girl was asking for it. All this girl’s basketball talk actually caught Deb’s attention and she was more involved today than ever before while talking to Dennis. Tune in to Fox 7 Sports this weekend for all your Nascar desires!
I LOVE YOU CALL:
Everyday Deb tries to spread love by calling random businesses. Deb called Sid from Speed Park Motor Sports in Daytona. Deb wondered what kind of motor vehicles are available to ride, but they only have go carts. Carts ride an impressive zero to eighty in three seconds. Deb got real excited when she found out that she is tall enough to ride! Sid loved talking with our British lady, but even Deb’s redneck accent couldn’t get her an I love you.
DEB’S QUIZ:
Every day we “trivialize” Deb by asking her questions on a variety of topics. Today we did Rick Perry trivia. We asked her if Rick Perry is re-elected, how many full terms will he have? She guessed three terms and was correct! We then asked her what is the name of Governor Perry’s wife? She knew it was Anita, correct again! Lastly we asked her True or False: While attending Texas A&M, was he a cheerleader? She said no and was wrong, Rick Perry was indeed a cheerleader. David gets very sold out tickets to Phoenix.
REWIND:
Mama Dick is starting a florist company. She has called to consult with SI (an advertising major from UT) on how to promote her business. She wants, in a tasteful way, to use the MorningX show in a two-page ad for her floral shop. SI says first thing is first and using her son, Jason in the ad would be detrimental to her business. Cassandra says she’s not hitting the right target market by using the show, but maybe using Deb could help tap into the “marrying” demographic of the show because she is a woman; however, she’s just as foolish and ugly as Jason. More business plans will be made over a power lunch, but Deb referred Mama Dick to GSD&M. Callers get witty to help out Mama Dick and even SI. A listener said “If Jason deflowers you, Mama Dick can reflower you” and another caller throws out a future job for SI, owning an ad agency called “Like Ads and Stuff.”

The new TigerText app--which recalls Tiger Woods' raunchy text messages to mistresses--can help cheaters keep their infidelities secret. A text message not only lives on the sender and receiver's phones, but also remains on the cell phone provider's servers for an unlimited period of time. With so many records, incriminating notes can be hard to hide.
