What is Front Steps?

Front Steps is a non profit working to end homelessness in Austin. Front Steps provides a range of services to the homeless including Central Texas Recuperative Care Center and Housing Programs.

Most recognizable to us downtown music lovers, Front Steps manages The ARCH: Austin Resource Center for the Homeless, located at 7th and Neches. During the day the ARCH provides basic care and resources (like showers, mail, laundry, telephone, computer lab etc) as well as access to a variety of services such as legal assistance, job training, health care, and case management programs to help them transition into housing. At night, The ARCH serves as an overnight men’s shelter.

Front Steps will be on site at Holy Mountain to provide you with information on how you can get involved and volunteer.

We will be holding a super fantastic raffle for some pretty amazing prizes with those proceeds going to Front Steps.

Not In The Face

Not In The Face made their first appearances (in 2009) as a two piece outfit playing around the local Austin Texas music scene. Less as a career choice and more for kicks. A creative outlet for two friends to have some fun and experiment with different sounds.

Since then, the band has put on a more serious face while keeping with the same intent: to rock the fuck out and have a good time! The now four piece band, featuring Jonathan Terrell on guitar and lead vocals, Wes Cargal on the drums, Michael Anthony Gibson on lead guitar, and Ross Dubois on bass are building quite the resume and are schedule to release a new EP later this fall. Going to ACL Fest? Catch them Sunday, Oct. 13 on the Austin Ventures stage at 11:20am.

Walker Lukens

In the past two and half years, Walker Lukens has released two EPs, an album, a 7 inch and played some 130 shows in four countries and 25 states. You probably didn’t know that because Walker was not always good at using the Internet. You might know that his most recent album, Devoted, was released in April of 2013.

More recently, Lukens has put together a 5-piece backing band called The Side Arms. Having already shared stages with such national acts as Band Horses and Heartless Bastards, Walker Lukens & The Side Arms are making a name for themselves

Little Radar

Little Radar’s 2011 EP Kill A Buffalo was the opening salvo from a band that quickly gained a reputation as a must-see, must-watch act. In 2012, with support from Music Box Media and Transmission Entertainment’s From the Mind of Adi, Little Radar released their sophomore effort Up in Arms to a full house at The Mohawk. Up In Arms demonstrated a clear step forward for the band and provided the cadence for their steady march upwards in the ranks of the competitive Austin music scene.

Little Radar’s first full-length album, Souvenirs, dropped on August 6th. Expanding upon their truly unique, layered blend of indie rock, folk, and psych, the new album promises to propel Little Radar to greater heights and give every listener something special to take home.
