The Soldier Thread

The Soldier Thread is an indie pop-rock quintet hailing from Austin, Texas. Having been only patched together since late 2007, the ensemble has already undergone quite an alteration in style. Todd Abels (guitar, keyboard) and Justin McHugh (keyboard, guitar, backup vocals) set out from ambient origins to weave in the missing pieces. Close ties to Patricia Lynn (lead vocals, keyboard) and Drew Vandiver (drums) allowed for an easy joining of loose ends. With Chance Gilmore (bass guitar) eventually completing the chain, the group began to play shows in and around Austin, as well as throughout Texas. The release of In Spades in 2010 marked a shift from true indie sound to more polished, pop-driven tunes. The band went on their first national tour in May 2011, opening for Blue October, and landed the 101X Staff Pick with self-released single "Anybody." The integration of producer Dwight Baker served as the anchor stitch to complete the composite the group currently finds themselves in. Rumors of this particular trend unwinding further are validated by TST's present live set. Additionally, the band just recently self-released a five-song EP entitled The Bull, and the "Matador" single including the 101X staff pick "Anybody" (feat. Zeale.)

ZEALE

ZEALE is an emerging Hip-‐Hop/Indie artist from Austin, Texas." After a couple of 'breaks,' and a few world tours under his belt, Zeale continues the relentless momentum onward. He first made significant headway in his career after having finished in the top five at the renowned Ohio's Scribble Jam. Later, at a very successful SXSW showcase a few years back, he was able to secure a tour around the middle-east with Los Bad Apples and a spot on one of Jason Mraz's western tours. He can be spotted on bills alongside such artists as Drake, Ludacris, and Slick Rick. Today, ZEALE is working on his debut EP featuring AWOLNATION, Dwight Baker, CJ Eiriksson and more.

The Reynolds Number

Formed in early 2011, The Reynolds Number is an Austin based quintet that has discovered a very unique blend of melodic rock and roll. With Josh Atkins and Chris Soltani on guitars, Gabriel Elpers on bass, and Om Shankar on keys/vocals, the band has crafted its niche in the Austin music scene by using choral guitar harmonies, thumping bass, intricate percussion, and powerful vocal melodies to captivate the crowd.
