Golden Bear
Golden Bear is an independent rock group from Austin, Texas.
Golden Bear's sound is driven by themes of hope and excitement. They have released two full-length albums, Golden Bear (2006) and To the Farthest Star (2007), and one EP entitled Everest (2009). Golden Bear's first album drew comparisons to Built to Spill and Modest Mouse, while spin.com praised it for its "unparalleled crescendos and soaring choruses". The album also featured members of Voxtrot and the Black Angels (band). The band's second album drew comparisons to The Soft Bulletin-era Flaming Lips."
Tonight is the official release show of Golden Bear's third LP, ALIVE, on C-Side Records.

The Great Nostalgic
Austin's The Great Nostalgic, living up to their name, make shimmering narrative pop with staying power. Jangling guitars, nimble bass lines, pulsing rhythms, and mysterious yet catchy vocals nod to past decades of rock and roll, but fresh arrangements and smart lyrics snap us to the present.
While the band continues to showcase a knack for storytelling, driving melodies and percussive instrumentation reign supreme on this sophomore release, Hope We Live Like We Promised (King Electric Records, April 2011). For this record, TGN tracked with Stuart Sikes (The Walkmen, Cat Power, Modest Mouse) and Justin Douglas (Austin's Shine Studios).

Haun's Mill
Band Leaders Nord Anderson and Eliza Wren compose hard times tunes of days gone by (economic woes, unions, exodus, murder, influenza). Their ever-expanding audience finds their rusty lyrics ring a bell with current times. Austinite Eliza Wren’s lilting voice pleasantly harmonizes with the raw vocals of Salt Lake’s Nord Anderson.
The full band includes: Eliza- Vocals, guitar, banjo, and toy piano Nord- Vocals, banjo, guitar and accordion Ryan Rachui- Trumpet and guitar Keith Palumbo- Drums Courtney Jackson- Upright Bass

Shivery Shakes
Well ya know one day we we're eating pizza and shooting dice and some homeless guy with a guitar walked up to us and told us that he was Johnny Carson. We thought he was looney tunes or whatever but then he pulled out this umbrella, right? and then we we're all teleported into space on this weird pick-up truck where Roy Orbison taught us how to write pop songs and fed us more pizza and corndogs and stuff. robert got so sick of the corndogs he became a vegetarian but whatever anyways yeah now we are back on earth and in a band and it's called shivery shakes. nice to meet ya.
