This year’s CARY Blues line-up includes Austin favorites Guy Forsyth, Leeann Atherton, Twilight Trio and Eddie and the Evereadys with special guest O. J. Jefferson. There will be a silent auction during the event.
Doors open at 3:00 p.m. with Twilight Trio kicking off the music at 3:30 p.m.
Admission is a $10 donation at the door or you can purchase tickets in advance at www.cary4kids.org. or mail your check to: CARY, 3710 Cedar St., Box 23, Austin, TX 78705. Tickets will be held in your name at the door.
Sponsorships for the CARY Blues Benefit are available by calling Heidi at (512) 451-4592.
Proceeds will fund PeaceRox, a two semester program with social and cognitive skills training, that helps 750 at-risk youth in 10 AISD schools. CARY helps youth change aggressive behavior like bullying and fighting.
For over 14 years CARY has helped youth promote safe schools and safe communities through violence prevention programs. Recent crime stats for Travis County show the benefits of early intervention to violence-prone kids. The latest report from the TX Dept. of Public Safety – “Texas Crime Report” – shows a remarkable 43% decrease in arrests of school age youths for violent crimes over the past 5 years in Travis County.
