On February 15th at Austin Goodwill, local nonprofit group Lights. Camera. Help. will launch its ‘Reel Change Film Frenzy’, starting a week-long cause-driven filmmaking competition which will pair ten local nonprofit organizations with ten filmmaking teams, in order to produce ten films that will highlight the missions of each group. The event kicks off at 4:00 p.m., where each filmmaking team will meet and begin planning for their films.

For Central Texas nonprofit organizations, the testament of their work can best be showcased by the stories that come from their philanthropic efforts and generous help. These are stories of giving, sacrifice, volunteerism and the never-ending goals of helping others and improving the communities around them.

“At Lights. Camera. Help., we believe that film and video is the most powerful way for a nonprofit to tell their story.” says Aaron Bramley, Co-Founder and Director of Lights. Camera. Help. “Unfortunately, most nonprofit organizations don’t have the budget they need to pay a filmmaker to create a really compelling story.”

These philanthropic groups do make efforts to spread their cause, but the occasional press release or public service announcement can only tell a small part of the story. That’s why Austin-based nonprofit Lights. Camera. Help. strives to support these groups by providing them with the tools and resources to produce high quality films and videos to help share their stories of giving and philanthropy. On February 23rd, a celebratory premier will be held at Alamo Drafthouse - Slaughter to screen the films in front of an audience of supporters, volunteers, friends, families and stars of the films
