Rogue Running Hosts Rogue Rescue Run 5K To Benefit Texas Humane Heroes!

Rogue Running will host the Rogue Rescue Run 5K with all proceeds to benefit Texas Humane Heroes. The Rogue Rescue Run 5K will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 near Texas Humane Heroes Leander Adoption Center. The 2013 Rogue Rescue Run 5K will also include a Dog Jog 5K as well as  Kids’ K. The community is invited to join in the fun and healthy fundraiser directly supporting the life-saving mission of Texas Humane Heroes.

“While we are all obsessed with running at Rogue Running, knowing that we are supporting a great cause gives us that much fire in our step! I look forward to bringing more runners from the community and from Rogue Running to this year’s race, making it the biggest and best event yet!” said Carolyn Mangold, Director of Training with Rogue Running.

“Texas Humane Heroes wants to challenge local runners to make running a 5K about helping to find forever families for homeless dogs and cats in our community. By signing up to run the 5K, jogging it with their dogs, or getting children participating in the Kids’ K, participants can take part in a fun event that provides support to save animals’ lives throughout Central Texas,” said Ron Marullo, Executive Director of Texas Humane Heroes. Marullo went on to say, “The Rogue Rescue Run 5K and Dog Jog is a unique way to raise needed funds. On average it costs $200 to prepare an animal for adoption, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, food, and shelter. We are a private organization and do not receive any government funding. This race is a creative and fun way to engage our local community to help support our mission.”

Animal lovers, running enthusiasts, and community activists can now register for the Rogue Resuce Run 5K online at www.TexasHumaneHeroes.org/5k. Early registration 5K pricing of $25 is available now until August 31. The Kids K early registration is $10 until August 31. Registered participants will receive a t-shirt and goody bag and support the animals at Texas Humane Heroes. Tomlinson’s Pet Supplies has agreed to be a Gold Collar Sponsor of the Rogue Rescue Run 5K amongst many other area businesses lending their support. Rogue Running Background Information

Rogue Training Systems began in Austin, Texas in 2004 with the desire to introduce elite level training concepts to the everyday runner or jogger. It was Rogue's belief that the beginner runner would greatly benefit from an approach that allowed them to focus on goal setting & seeing beyond the concept of "just finishing" their respective event. We strived to truly challenge our athletes to train consistently and effectively in a well-designed, disciplined environment. On February 1, 2008, Rogue opened its first running specialty store (Rogue Equipment) in east Austin, combining training & retail in an attempt to better serve the running community. With its own dedicated training space, Rogue branched out into core training and partnered with local fitness businesses, intent on developing an "athlete's village" concept dedicated to providing resources for the total athlete. In July of 2011, Rogue opened its second running specialty store in Cedar Park, Texas. The concept remained the same, combining training and retail to serve the area’s runners most effectively.
