United Way to share mission at event

 Virginia College in Austin will host a Friends and Family Fall Festival for the community and former, current and prospective students on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to be held at the campus located at 6301 E. Highway 290. While learning about the educational opportunities available to Austin-area students at Virginia College, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about and support their local United Way chapter.

“We are excited to host this Friends and Family Summer Open House here at Virginia College in Austin,” says Campus President Harvey Giblin. “Not only will this event benefit the local United Way, but it also gives area residents the opportunity to visit and learn more about our campus. The United Way will also be in attendance to share more about their mission and work in our area.”

Various planned activities will provide fun for the whole family. Refreshments will be provided to guests, as well as free giveaways, and the opportunity to win door prizes. Attendees will also be able to take a tour of the campus and receive information about programs offered including:  administrative assistant, business administration, diagnostic medical sonography, medical assistant, medical billing and coding, medical office management, office administration, paralegal studies, pharmacy technician, respiratory care and surgical technology.
