In-Kind Donations Needed to Help Care for the Dogs & Cats of the Humane Society of Williamson County!

The Dog Days of Summer have been difficult as the quantity of in-kind donations has dropped. The Humane Society of Williamson County (HSWC) relies on donated supplies to carry out its life-saving mission. With the current focus on back-to-school shopping and this weekend’s sales tax holiday for back-to-school items, it is easy for community members to forget about the homeless animals. HSWC is pleading with shoppers to assist by donating an assortment of pet supplies to continue caring for the homeless dogs and cats awaiting forever families. Community members can find many of these supplies in their own homes or they can inexpensively purchase needed supplies at local supermarkets or pet stores.

If community members are unable to donate an in-kind item, but still wish to support the animals, monetary donations can be made online at www.hswc.net/donate.

The following items are desperately needed to continue HSWC’s non-profit, No Kill, life-saving mission:

  • Canned Kitten Food
  • Canned Puppy Food
  • Kitty Litter (clumping)
  • Greater than 70% Isopropyl alcohol
  • Latex Gloves
  • 3x3 or 4x4 Gauze Pads
  • Bleach
  • Household Cleaning Supplies
  • White Copy Paper

“Throughout the summer, we have seen a significant decline in supply related donations. Being a non-profit, No Kill animal welfare organization, HSWC does not receive any government funding and is not affiliated with any other organization (local or national). Therefore, we rely on the community to help us to continue improving the lives of both people and homeless animals throughout Central Texas. A small gift of a bag of kitty litter or even ten dollars goes a long way to help HSWC continue saving animals’ lives,” said Eran Fehily, HSWC Community Relations Manager.

Donations can be brought in to HSWC any time during open business hours (HSWC is closed on Mondays). HSWC is located at 10930 E Crystal Falls Pkwy, Leander, TX 78641. For monetary donations, they can be mailed or made online at www.hswc.net/donate.

HSWC has made it easy for individuals to create their own personal online fundraising page and share it with their friends and family through email, Facebook, and Twitter. To set up a page or learn more information, visit www.hswc.net/isupport.
