Austin Duathletes  invites the community to join in another  of its popular, original “pub runs” – the Douche Bag Pub Run – to be held the evening of Friday, August 24th. Runners are encouraged to dress to fit the theme “white trash (the trashier the better)” and prizes will be awarded for costumes that best fit the theme.

Founded in 2004, the Austin Duathletes mission is to promote the sport of duathlon in central Texas, to provide fun, athletic events that are open to the public, and to donate to local and national charities.

Austin Duathletes VP Alicia Hawley notes: “The Douche Bag Pub Run is an Austin Duathletes original. It’s a great opportunity to spend some quality time with friends in a fun outdoor activity. Let out your inner Joe Dirt or Daisy Duke and join us! We’re also very happy to announce that a portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to the Austin Ronald McDonald House.”

In addition to staging its popular series of pub runs, Austin Duathletes organizes monthly bike rides all over central Texas, as well as providing running and biking opportunities throughout the year. The organization’s activities are detailed at www.austinduathletes.com, which also provides links to the club’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
