(2/2/14) Monty's Catch of the Day - Lana Del Rey

If you happened to watch the Grammy's last week, and sat through the commercials, then you might have seen the new trailer for the upcoming Disney film, Maleficent. It's the timeless story of Sleeping Beauty starring Angelina Jolie as Maleficent the evil witch, and Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora. You can watch the trailer below. Now take note of the song playing throughout the preview. It's none other than Lana Del Rey doing an eerie cover of the classic Disney tune, "Once Upon a Dream", which happens to be today's catch. The trailer depicts the film as being very dark & moody, straying far from the typical Disney flick. That being said, the use of Lana Del Rey's mysterious vocals really transforms the original 1959 version (from the animated Sleeping Beauty film) into the perfect piece for setting the tone. You can expect to hear "Once Upon a Dream" during the end credits of Maleficent, which hits theaters on May 30. This marks another incredible song from Lana Del Rey that's featured in a motion picture - the other being "Young and Beautiful" from Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. Click on the audio player above to hear a longer clip of today's catch "Once Upon a Dream" from Lana Del Rey. Good things!  photo maleficent_2014-1366x768-590x331_zps3dcdf39d.jpg
