(8/18/13) Monty's Catch of the Day - Cut Copy
Posted 8/18/2013 8:25:00 AM

A few weeks ago, Cut Copy performed at the Pitchfork Music Festival. However, it wasn't their performance that caught everyone's attention - no sir. It was the fact that they performed and recorded a brand new track, which happens to be today's "catch of the day". The song is called "Let Me Show You", and the really cool part of this is that the Australian band pressed an extremely limited amount of 12" vinyl immediately after it was recorded. So there were only a lucky handful that received the 12" vinyl while attending the festival. The good news is that Cut Copy just released the digital version for the rest of the world. At over 6 minutes long, the track goes in many directions, almost like a musical journey. It also seems to take on the life and format of a chilled-out dance record, similar to something you would hear at an underground club. This is an absolutely brilliant track, and ranks for me as one of their finest. No word about a new album, but I'll be on the lookout. Be sure to catch Cut Copy at this year's Fun Fun Fun Festival...who knows, maybe they will record and press another new track while attending Austin's little gathering. You can listen to a clip of "Let Me Show You" in the audio player above. Good things! photo CUT-COPY-LET-ME-SHOW-YOU_zps11bcf73d.jpg
