(7/7/13) Monty's Catch of the Day - Moby
Posted 7/7/2013 8:25:00 AM

Who knew that Moby was secretly making music over the past couple of years? I can just imagine him working in his studio in the wee hours of the night trying so hard to fight his long nemesis - insomnia. Whatever the case is, Moby is back and will be releasing a brand new album in September/October entitled Innocents. Now what I really like about this upcoming project is that Moby has collaborated with some well-known artists, which is a little out of the norm if you consider his long career. Innocents will feature the vocals of Wayne Coyne, Damien Jurado, and Skylar Grey just to name a few. Today's catch features Canadian singer Cold Specks and is called "A Case for Shame" - the first single from the LP. The song is Moby doing what he does best...electronic ambience, hypnotic beats, and chords that tug at your heart. This is a beautiful track, and at over 6 minutes long, it's also a journey. You can listen to a clip of "A Case for Shame (ft. Cold Specks)" in the audio player above. Keep your eye open for Innocents in late September/early October, as it should be a treat for us all. Good things!
